Job Summary:
Alsco is a privately-held company that is a leader in the textile services industry. Alsco’s internal IT is developing and implementing a new line-of-business application used for managing deliveries and billing in its branch operations. Alsco is seeking a Software Engineer in our Salt Lake City office who can join our development team in designing and maintaining our enterprise application in the Jade programming language.
Example of duties:
- Learn and adapt to a new programming language
- Perform systems analysis, design and development
- Develop usable solutions based on verbal and written product specifications.
- Perform own testing and interact directly with QA staff for in-depth testing
- Write scripts to isolate or identify certain data criteria
- Troubleshoot and reproduce product problems
- Assist other developers with technical solutions
- Evaluate, identify, and present alternatives for software
Requirements Requirements:
- BS or BA degree in computer science or related field
- 2+ years experience in developing business applications
- 3+ years experience with object-oriented principals and development languages
- Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Experience with database technology, particularly object-oriented databases
- Experience with troubleshooting at all levels: development, testing, production
- Good written and communication skills
